Aden Grove

A fantastic example of how a small space and modest budget need not stop the creation of an amazing space. This house in East London needed just an infill of a side space, a simple glazed extension to the rear and the removal of one internal wall to completely transform the way its owner lived.

In order to manage costs, structural advice was sought from the onset so that the architectural design did not exceed the client's budget. This meant that simple, economical materials could be used without the need for heavy structural works or significant foundation amendments.

Although structurally not breaking any boundaries, this project is a good illustration of the importance of a holistic design approach even in small projects. It shows that you don't need a huge budget or lots of bells and whistles to make a great space.
